1/18-1/24

Well, not much on the new front...
School starts next week, time will tell if I will have time to keep updating weekly,
I'm also late by a day
SUE ME

I finally got Power Grid: Factory Manger, well a least since last week.
I like it, and so does some of Cornell's Games Club...enough that someone else might buy it.
I'm not going to bother to link to it directly, but If you want to know more about it, you can go to boardgamegeek.com and search it up.

But, I'll get get back to THIS WEEK IN ZACH

Music:
Those who are not familer with YTMND.com
It is a website that hosts websites that consist of only these elements
A. Looping Audio
B. A Looping Gif or Picture
C. Superimposed Text
Each of these song are used in some YTMND on the website, and I've been listening to the full songs

Movies:
Moon
I went into this thinking
"OK, so its some director trying to make 2010: A Space Odyssey"
Well, I was wrong, and this movie was great, surreal and I recommend it

Games:
Grayscale
Knightfall
Canabalt

Grayscale is a unique puzzle that combines a maze-logic, gear-logic and, to some degree, pattern recognition. You really have to try this to understand it.

Knightfall is a logic game that involves turning a board around, removing tiles from a that board in a "click a group of 3 or more" way, and trying to get from A to B.

Canabalt is, well, running and jumping. The character in the game is always running and the only control is to make him jump. This is better than I can describe it, plus if you don't like it, you only wasted 2 minutes, not bad right?

Books:
Nothing New

See ya next week, bitches!

Week of 1/11/10 - 1/17/10

Well, turbulent times are passing, at least for now.
I finally picked out my classes for the semester, after getting a 1.3 GPA and getting put on academic probation

Anyway, here they, for the curious...

Well, depressing stuff out of the way...

Music:

This has been a mashup week, If you want to know more about these songs, feel free to visit the DJ's websites. If you want to know what certain songs are a mashup OF, leave a comment with which song, and I will tell you if I know.

Movies:
Just saw "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus"
Very freaky...but interesting
I liked it, but it has a confusing ending

Games:
Gravit-Eye
Paradox Embrace
Dolphin Olympics 2

Gravit-Eye is a neat puzzle game...it requires some timing and, at times, fast-paced logic.
-Not for the directionally challenged

Paradox Embrace
Now, this is a puzzle that is cool.
You shift between 3 personalities (Science, Mythology, Neither)
Different enemies and obstacles show up for each personality

Dolphin Olympics 2
Now, this is a 'classic', but I have been playing it recently
On Kongregate, they have a badge for reaching "The Restaurant at the end of the Universe"
Which is a HG2G book/location - Hysterical

Books:
Speaking of HG2G, I'm about halfway through "And Another Thing..."
I've just been to lazy to read it

Anyway, that's all for now

Starting Post

Hello World!

This is my blog
My name is Zach Kessler

I'm 21, born in March

I'm writting this blog out of boredom, and who knows, maybe I'll entertain someone
It could happen

Well, I figure I can just try writing what I'm thinking of

Music:
Current Playlist

This has been running on Shuffle almost all of the time when I'm on the Computer now

Games(flash):
I Love Traffi
c
Bubba Time
Defend Your Honor!

These games are what I have been playing online
The first two are puzzle games, the third is a tower defense game

Movies:
The Men Who Stare At Goats
-Funny, Smart, and Jeff Bridges is the man

Books:
And Another Thing...
by Eoin Colfer
The Lost Symbol
by Dan Brown
So, my book section normally is non-existant, but I recieved these and am glad to say that I love them
I'm still reading And Another Thing... but, it's a pretty entertaining entry in the series, even if it isn't written by Douglas Adams

That's All for Now!
